Improvements to centre approved

Bingo was played at the Maidstone Drop In Centre Jan. 5 with Margaret MacEachern and Jean Hartman doing the calling. Dorothy Kissick and Jean Stewart providing lunch. The loonie pot was won and divided by Dorothy Harmel and Dorothy Schwartz.

Community centre memberships available

Our best wishes to Vic Hult, who recently underwent surgery on both his knees. He is getting around well already. Our best wishes, also, to Jack Cardiff, who is celebrating a special birthday this month.

Winter visits and activities

Tillie Burt took Theresa Kennedy to Lloydminster Friday for a medical appointment. They did some shopping, too. I am glad to report the Bertrands are feeling better and doing well.

It's 5:30 in the morning and, while I'm still in bed thinking about how much I hate Mondays, the snowplows are already out and about, clearing the highways.

Spread too thin, but loving it

It is hard to believe that we are already over half way through January.

Snow is piling up

The snow has piled up during the past week with some falling each day. Fortunately, up until now, we have not had much wind, but the forecast says that is about to change. Perhaps we will be looking forward to blown in paths and roads.

Drive carefully on icy roads

We have once again been enjoying a few days of mild weather, with cold weather due towards the end of the week. Driving carefully is the order of the day, since the warmer days and colder nights bring icy roads.

Community potluck plays cupid

Those who attended the Valentine potluck supper held in the Waseca Centre Feb. 13 enjoyed the good food and lots of visiting. Lorraine Ottison was the winner of the Valentine box of chocolates. On the weekend of Feb.

If it had been the Foot Monologues, or the Back Monologues, or even the Liver Monologues, people may not have taken notice of the posters around town.

93 years young and going strong

I would like to dedicate this article to someone near and dear to our hearts, Sarah (Gillatt) Beaudion. A birthday party was held Jan. 7 in the seniors' hall to celebrate Sarah's 93rd birthday. Family and friends gathered for this event.
