Village rink fundraisers planned

Work continues on the village rink. Plans are being made for fundraisers to be held in the months to come. These include bake sales and bingos. Watch for dates.

28th great-grandchild arrives in the family

Nov. 9 - Milt and Lil McMillan are pleased to announce their 28th great-grandchild: Koen James Rhinehart, a brother for Tanner and a son for Maggie and Shawn Rhinehart. We were glad to have Theresa Kenney home from the hospital Nov. 7.

Christmas supper planned at November meeting

The monthly meeting was held Nov. 4 with Margaret MacEachern in the chair. Bids were turned in by Dorothy Schwartz for the Christmas supper on Dec. 11. The Catholic Ladies Altar Society will be doing the catering.

The Remembrance Day service at Maymont Central School was held Nov. 10. Remember: remember the one who died, even if it's not Remembrance Day. Many thousands died everyday; thousands more lost brutal battles. Everyone remember, remember all who fall.

Junior volleyball teams wind up season

The junior volleyball teams took part in conference playoffs. Both teams finished second so had to play off. The boys lost to Medstead so did not get to go to regionals. The girls played off against John Paul II and lost out in a close match.

Carnival and bazaar entertains the whole family

Battlefords Union Hospital (BUH) Foundation's Festival of Trees is approaching quickly with events from Nov. 24 to 26. The festival of trees hosts many events, including the carnival and bazaar Saturday at the Gold Ridge Centre, North Battleford.

Service features special songs and puppet show

Borden United Church held a children's service Nov. 6. Gayle Wensley played guitar for the action songs. One of the action songs was God is Good in four languages.
