Along with books sometimes libraries are lucky enough to welcome an author. Last week Myrtle Conacher of Mervin stopped in at the Maidstone Library. Conacher talked a little about writing and mentioned the aims of the Saskatchewan Writers Guild.

For much of April, the Western Development Museum will host traveling exhibit on northern Saskatchewan rock paintings. The exhibit, called "Kiwetinohk: The Rock Paintings of Northern Saskatchewan," will run from April 5 to 29.

Theresa Kennedy enjoyed a ride in the country when her son Scotty and Darlene of Lloydminster took her to visit her granddaughter Leslie, Nickie and great-granddaughter Brielle.

March has been a busy month at Maidstone High School. The senior girls' and boys' basketball teams attended regionals last weekend. Despite all of their hard work, they will not be moving on to provincials.

Having put a new heating system in Waseca Community Centre, the committee members are planning more improvements there.

Sunday's rain was welcome since we have had very little moisture from winter snowfalls. We have been enjoying higher temperatures and sunny days for the most part.

As with any driver who spend a number of hours behind the wheel of an automobile I know I have made mistakes. I doubt there is a driver who can honestly say they have not made an error once in a while.

The Boys and Girls club's tag line is "a good place to be." We use this because it is true in so many ways. It's a good place because it's fun, it's safe and the children want to come here.
