PORCUPINE PLAIN — A Porcupine Plain man has won $100,000 from the lottery. Jeffery Smith bought a Lotto 6/49 ticket from the Parkland Co-op C-Store. The extra on the ticket matched the last six digits of the winning number – 2375637.

MELFORT — The Melfort Mustangs have announced three commitments for the 2021-22 season. Max Mills, a 2003-born defenceman from Lloydminster, Alta., spent the last two seasons with the Alberta Elite Hockey League U18 Lloydminster Bobcats.

HUMBOLDT — A commercial building in Humboldt was broken into, then around $600 worth of salvaged copper wire and a $500 laptop was stolen. The crime took place sometime during Jan. 18 and Jan. 19.

HUMBOLDT — A set of preliminary concept plans has been released for a new multi-use facility at Centennial Park that will serve the city’s ball community. The Humboldt Ball Development Board released the plans on Feb. 3.

GRONLID — A Main Street Gronlid business was broken into through the front door. Several items were stolen. Melfort RCMP are asking for any help to identify any suspects. Melfort RCMP said the crime took place sometime between Jan. 17 and 19.
