Due to the high organics and turbidity currently in the North Saskatchewan River, the F.E. Holliday Water Treatment Plant is not fully operating, according to a City of North Battleford advisory.

Mother Nature demonstrated her might and capriciousness last week, stewing up a freak storm that dumped hail and rain on the Battlefords with harsh fury. The swiftness of the assault was quickly matched by the way city officials sprang into action.

JULY 27 Senior Men's Soccer has four games lined up. At 5:45 p.m. Sweetgrass plays Sweetgrass Light at NBCHS and Young Little Pine plays Poundmaker at Centennial Field followed by the Little Pine Deuces against Thunderchild at 7:30 p.m.

It was busy week of hockey for Eric Pfeifer and it is only July. Pfeifer was one of 40 players invited to the Sask First Hockey camp for five days of training and scouting.

As of Monday night, three of the four North Saskatchewan River Baseball League playoff series have started, all the provincial playoff series are completed and the representatives are set for the next step.

Three of the four NSRBL playoff series are started and the fourth kicks off tonight. Monday night, the Border City Blue Jays squeaked out a 2-1 win over the Lloydminster Junior Redhawks.

Aug. 21, Douglas Schultz of Watrous, one of Saskatchewan is most dedicated baseball personalities from over four decades will be inducted into the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame.
