Mount Hope Multiple 4-H Club held a meeting Jan. 28. Members discussed curling. The junior team won the district title and moved on to Aberdeen for regionals. There they lost in the end, but had fun. Speeches were talked about.

BUH Lottery sales begin Tuesday

Volunteers will once again be selling Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation Monthly Lottery tickets starting Tuesday, Feb. 22 at BUH Main Lobby. Tickets are $104 each, with only 1,200 being sold. There will be a total of 158 draws, awarding $50,000.

Seasons change, some too slow, some too quickly

With earlier sunrises and later sunsets there is hope on the horizon. It happens every year as our seasons begin to change. Warmer weather and more sunlight help the white banks to recede and even if more snow threatens I know it won?t last long.

Local singers bring Greystone Singers home

Two local musicians, Danielle Schmidt and Tricia Florence, are returning to the Battlefords as members of the award winning Greystone Singers for a concert at Battleford United Church on Sunday, Feb. 20, at 2:30 pm.

Local men's rinks fail to advance to senior provincials

The northern and southern senior playdowns were held Feb. 10 to 13 and although their were two local teams at northerns, they will not be competing at provincials in Regina.
