Play ball! Tuesday marked opening day of the 2011 version of North Saskatchewan River Baseball League.

The opening day of the North Saskatchewan River Baseball League was Tuesday and four teams were in action. In St. Walburg, the Reds fell 12-11 to the Unity Midgets.

Fire crews battled a suspicious shed fire at the Battlefords Co-op Home Centre last week. The shed fire broke out around 4 p.m. May 17. North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services found a small amount of grass burning in a wooden garden shed.
