City sets tax policy

The City of Yorkton's Tax Policy will remain basically the same as a year ago following a decision by City Council at its Committee-of-the-Whole meeting Monday.

Milne Bay idea hits Council bump

Last fall residents of Milne Bay in the city appeared before Yorkton Council to voice a concern with the speed of vehicles on the street and noting they were willing to fund the installation of temporary speed bumps to slow drivers.

Income tax info

Under the Income Tax Act, you may lower the amount of income tax payable as permitted under the law by making investments in certain arrangements, such as in RRSPs or TFSAs.

The Yorkton Regional High School will be hosting a senior badminton playoff tonight in their gym. Both high school seniors will be playing. Game times are 4 p.m.

The community was saddened to learn of the passing of Donna (nee Allan) Legacy on March 30, 2011 at the young age of 49. Donna was the daughter of Vina (Irvin) and Dick Allan who farmed in the Cotham district south of Dubuc.
