The Preeceville School elementary students performed for family members and friends in the annual traditional Christmas concert on December 19. Emma Covlin and Brady Kashuba were the emcees.

The Preeceville midget hockey team played a home game against Esterhazy/ Churchbridge on December 10. The Pats fought hard but fell short with a loss of 5-3. Scoring for Preeceville were Sean Paligan (two goals) and Zac McGrisken.

Sturgis students and staff present "a little bit of Christmas"

The generations following mine will not be able to comprehend some of the old adages, as the adages probably won鈥檛 relate to anything that they would know. What the heck is he talking about, you wonder. Well, let鈥檚 start with money.

Soon the rifles from hunting season will be put away and outdoor enthusiasts across the province will switch their focus to getting out to do some ice fishing.

The Kelvington 4-H Beef Club held its monthly meeting December 11, followed by a curling Christmas party and a potluck supper at the Kelvington curling rink.

Children from the St. Patrick鈥檚 Roman Catholic Church in Sturgis presented its annual Christmas concert on Sunday.

Judy Bjornstad of Preeceville is a hometown woman who has been displaying her artistic talent from an early age. "As a little girl I used to draw and was encouraged by my mother who said that colouring inside the lines was important," said Bjornstad.

A traditional Ukrainian Christmas Eve supper was enjoyed by many at the Sturgis Grace United Church on December 9, when Rose Pozium and Ann Perpelitz were the head chefs.

Alan Homberg, Sturgis鈥檚 new mayor, says that his intent is to focus on the growth of the town. "My vision for the Town of Sturgis is to focus on moving forward and being progressive," said Holmberg.
