A lot of people say I'm crazy to put my support in the NHL labour dispute fully behind the players.

Perhaps nothing defines a community more than the spirit its citizens have in terms of supporting local groups and activities. Without support there would be no groups for our children, no clubs for adults to participate it.

It wasn't the biggest news story you read last week nor was it the most political. But it was a nice story ... and nice reminder that this country still works. And it comes along a time when some of us may be beginning to harbour other thoughts.
