Welcome to Week CLXI of 鈥楩ishing Parkland Shorelines鈥�. Like most of us I am a novice fisherman, loving to fish, but far from an expert.

The world did not end. I did go through some physical withdrawal, anxiety mostly, but after a few days that was gone. I still have some lingering emotional symptoms.

Reading the news, it鈥檚 hard not to feel a growing sense of unease.

View from the Cheap Seats is kind of an extension of the newsroom. Whenever our three regular reporters, Calvin Daniels, Thom Barker and Randy Brenzen are in the building together, it is frequently a site of heated debate.

Saskatoon Mayor Don Atchison is taking a bit of heat for not attending that city鈥檚 Pride Parade over the weekend. I鈥檓 not sure if I can word this in a way that comes across as non-offensive or not, but I don鈥檛 understand why he needs to be there.

Every time a government borrows money there is an inevitable comparison to home mortgages. But an inch below the spin is the glaring reality that government debt is nothing like a mortgage.
