Sometimes there鈥檚 just nothing like a good old-fashioned summer storm.

It is fair time in Yorkton, and that is an annual event that always brings back a flood of memories from my youth. In my youth, a time now more than three decades in the past, I spent large chunks of my summers at fairs.

In a province where a relatively small population is scattered across a rather massive area, how to stay connected with one another is an important issue. Certainly how we maintain our connections has changed dramatically over the last few decades.

The Preacher and I travelled a thousand summer miles between Dad鈥檚 home and ours recently. We took a bed and breakfast a mile or so down the road from his care facility and visited daily between naps and meals.
