In mid-September of 2019 a local road building company decided to excavate their property for gravel, approximately 40 acres, which they most certainly have the right to do. The excavation went on up until December 20th of 2019.

Dear Editor: Kudos to City of Yorkton Maintenance Workers This letter is in recognition of the many hardworking men and women on the maintenance crews in our city.

Regular readers will know that the gaming group behind this weekly column collectively have an addiction to miniature war gaming. If we can move minis around the gaming table doing battle, well chances are we want them.

I won鈥檛 be winning any 鈥淏est Grandparent鈥� awards soon. Not after the week I recently spent with the Beans in their parents鈥� absence. Grandparents are just older, more tired parents.

The other day we bid farewell to our hummingbirds, with our last sighting of them being on Saturday, September 12. They were amazing guests in our garden, providing hours of beautiful bird-watching.
