As of Oct. 23, the Battlefords North Stars topped the league standings with a 13-0-0-1 record, 27 points, and a .964 winning percentage. The Humboldt Broncos, on Sunday, were second in the SJHL standings with an 11-2-0-0 record, 22 points, and a .846 winning percentage.

Chad Nehring, was in his third year with the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League Yorkton Terriers and among the 22 players selected to the team.

The next action for Yorkton sees the Terriers host Humboldt Wednesday, Oct. 26, before heading to Wilcox to take on Notre Dame Thursday.

The Terriers are scheduled to be in Kindersley Saturday.

Hannah Pennell, daughter of Kim and Colleen of Kamsack, was named the Canada West Women鈥檚 Hockey Player of the Week on Oct. 4 and on Sept. 26 she was told that she was named to the 2021-22 Academic All-Canadian List.

The two teams meet again tonight Friday in Battlefords, before the Terriers head to Kindersley for action Saturday.

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League attracts players from all over. Players not only come from Saskatchewan, but from all over the country and even the U.S.

Five runners from Canora took part in the provincial meet held at Wapiti Ski Hill.

Kozak鈥檚 performance also helped the East Central girl鈥檚 take the team gold medals as well.
