A landfill contract, hay lease and a student worker were among items to concern town council at its regular meeting of February 14.
Council awarded a one-year landfill contract to Craig Parmley at a rate of $1,500 per month with an annual option to renew for an additional two years.
A proposal from Shane Kraynick and Clint Kraynick to lease the hay land at SE 20-32-3 W2 for six years at an annual rate of $18 per cultivated acre, payable on April 1 of each year, was accepted.
The placement of a work experience student in 2017 as part of the Transitioning Youth to employment program offered by Partners in Employment was approved.
Non-profit museum grants were approved for the Canora Ukrainian Heritage Museum ($2,500) and the Canora Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity ($1,000).

At council’s regular meeting of January 17, council approved application to the Provincial Territorial Infrastructure Component (PTIC) and Clean Water and Wastewater Fund (CWWF) grant programs for the 2017 Civic Centre upgrades project and the 2017 water treatment plant chlorine project.
Councillor Kerry Trask was appointed to the Child Action Plan committee with Councillor Eric Sweeney as the alternate.
