Dean Wilgosh, president of the Canora Agricultural Society, made a contribution of $2,500 to STARS (Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society) on February 4.
Wilgosh said the Ag Society felt it was important to support a service that is so essential to Canora and the surrounding region.
鈥淪TARS provides a valuable service to our community, and all members of the community benefit from it,鈥� said Wilgosh. 鈥淲e have seen the its value repeatedly when there are emergencies in the Canora area.鈥�
Wilgosh said the two Saskatchewan bases in Regina and Saskatoon have a total annual budget of $21 million. Only half of that need is provided by the government, which highlights the importance of support from communities such as Canora.
