All Else Fails is playing a pair of shows in Yorkton at The Spot. Tonight (Sept. 22) they do an 'all ages shows', and go with an '18-plus show' tomorrow (Sept. 23). The band, out of St. Albert, AB.

As of Tuesday morning, RCMP have not been successful in locating a man reported to have fallen into the Whitesand River on September 14. Canora RCMP were called to the Canora Dam east of town over the noon hour last Tuesday.

On September 11, 2010 at approximately 6:30 pm, members from the Canora and Sturgis RCMP detachments executed two search warrants in the town of Preeceville. One warrant was executed on 3rd street SE and the other was executed on 1st Avenue NE.

Despite the weather man, Bredenbury Golf Course 'Night Golf Tournament' was a successful event. Forty-five avid golfers took part. A delicious supper was served to 75 people after the first round of golf. Thanks to all who helped with the supper.

Seniors at Yorkton and District Nursing Home experienced joy with the placement of a St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog team.

Halloween is only weeks away, and Blake DeJong is hoping that in that time a haunted house can be developed in the city to create a few scares and screams for people, and to raise funds for a good cause.

Yorkton Council has embarked upon a process to develop a Strategic Plan for the city. As part of that process Mayor James Wilson announced a Community Strategic Plan Conference to be held Oct. 28 - 30 at the Gallagher Centre.

The regular monthly Non Pot Luck Luncheon is Monday, September 20 in the Stirling Room. A note for future reference: Laketown Leaders will have community coffee on Monday and Tuesday, September 27 & 28 from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

For an entire quarter-century, the Parkland Writers Alliance has been a continuing organization here in Yorkton.
