A partnership between two Kamsack residents has been able to obtain the rights to operate the Pickerel Point Concession at Madge Lake for 2017.

A new secure patio addition to the Norquay Health Centre was unveiled during a ceremony on June 22. Those in attendance were welcomed to the event with music played by the Whitesand Band of Kamsack sponsored by Leson’s Funeral Home.

For as long as the National Doukhobor Heritage Village has existed in Veregin, the third Sunday in July was reserved as Heritage Day, a day to celebrate Doukhobor Heritage by way of prayers, food, tours and a cultural program.

Kamsack residents are making those last-minute touches on their gardens, pulling stray weeds, pinning up leggy sweet peas, cutting their lawns and making sure no debris has found its way on their yards, streets and sidewalks.

Eighteen songs, all sharing the theme of time, were sung by the Kamsack Community Choir or by a solo, trio or quartet of choir members during a concert at Westminster Memorial United Church in Kamsack on June 25.

A Kamsack-based business was named a Gold Standard Award winner at the Farm Progress Show in Regina on June 20. Tankfull, a division of Duck Mountain Environmental, a business owned by Rob Ritchie, received the award for innovation.

Graduation exercises were held at the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute on June 29 in honour of 34 Grade 12 students who have graduated.
