The Town of Preeceville recreation department has been working hard to keep the summer fun activities rolling for all ages. The rock wall offered many challenges of many difficulties on May 24 at the Preeceville Skating Rink grounds.

The students and their parents enjoyed challenging their physical and mental abilities when they had the opportunity to climb a rock wall.

The Sturgis READ club and the students of the grades 6 and 7 class at the Sturgis Composite High School joined together for three afternoons of old time dancing. The dancing took place over the course of the year and concluded May 24.

The Preeceville School Community Council spearheaded a community garden project that provided a learning opportunity for students. The organizers were Vereen Primeau, Janeen Covlin, Megan Maier and Kim Sandager.

More than 50 people attended a barbecue held May 22 at the Keen Age Centre where two well-known entertainers, Glen Leson of Canora and Sandy Solonenko of Yorkton entertained.

The first event in the 2016 Parkland Association of Disc Golf Tournament series is in the books. The Vibram Birdie Bash was held in Springside Sunday, with 23 participants entered.
