A grain elevator constructed in 1908 by the Doukhobor settlers of the community has received both federal and provincial heritage property designations.

After a successful joint food drive throughout Canora by the Canora air cadets and the Canora and District Fire Department, the food items were donated to the Filling the Gap Foodbank on October 3 at the Canora branch of the Parkland Regional Library

The Canora branch of the CIBC raised over $1,700 in the 2018 Run for the Cure in its continuing efforts to fight breast cancer. The eighth annual book sale raised over $765, said Elly Carlson, branch spokesperson for the effort.

In 2018, the Canora and District Fire Department is recognizing its 110 th anniversary during Fire Prevention Week.

In spite of chilly temperatures, approximately 260 students and teachers from Canora Composite School (CCS) were involved in the hour-long Terry Fox Run at the CCS track on September 28.

The Canora air cadets and the Canora and District Fire Department joined forces and conducted a food drive, going door-to-door in Canora on September 22. Capt. Darren Paul said the idea came up during a regular cadets sponsorship committee meeting.

The Canora Wheatland Lioness Club made a donation of $500, which was raised at the Picnic in the Park held at King George Park in July, to Filling the Gap Foodbank in Canora on September 27.

Boris Derow grew up in Canora and has since become a well-known opera singer with performances in many faraway countries. When contacted recently by Canora Courier, he was preparing to sing in Pretoria, 麻豆视频 Africa.

I have been a citizen of this town for some 40 years, and I have never been so disappointed in our town officials than in the past few years with all their rules and bylaws.
