Bradley Ezekiel provided the spark in the top of the seventh, blasting his second home run of the game to tie things up at 9-9. After back-to-back walks, Blake Hunter stepped up with a clutch two-run double, scoring Mitch McKay and Nick White to give Canada its first lead since early in the contest.
In the bottom half, reliever Ty Sebastian sealed the win. After a strikeout, Rafael Flores grounded into a game-ending double play, capping off Canada’s statement victory in front of a great home crowd.
Canada look for second straight win when they take on Argentina Thursday night at 8:30 p.m. Venezuela will aim to bounce back in the afternoon matchup against the New Zealand Black Sox.
