The Melville Millionaires are pleased to announce the hiring of Logan Maxwell as the team’s new Assistant Coach for the upcoming 2025–2026 SJHL season.

A native of Deloraine, Manitoba, Maxwell brings a unique blend of grassroots coaching experience and academic insight to the Millionaires’ bench.

He began his hockey journey playing minor hockey in his hometown and stayed involved in the game while working in road construction, eventually transitioning into coaching. His early experience includes guiding Deloraine’s U15 program and later taking on responsibilities with the local senior team.

“We’re very excited to have Logan join the organization. Throughout the hiring process, he was someone we consistently came back to”, said Millionaires Head Coach & GM Doug Johnson.  “His references spoke incredibly highly of him—not only about his work ethic, but also about the way he connects with players and communicates effectively. We’re looking forward to working with him this season.”

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Maxwell pursued further education, earning a Business Administration diploma with a major in Marketing from Red River College. His academic background, combined with his passion for coaching, has helped shape his leadership style and approach to team culture and development.

Most recently, Maxwell served as Head Coach and General Manager of the Quesnel River Rush in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) during the 2024–25 season.
