The Canadian Junior Hockey League announced Wednesday that Melfort Mustangs Head Coach and General Manager Trevor Blevins has been named the 2025 CJHL Coach of the Year Award.

This prestigious honor, known as the Darcy Haugan/Mark Cross Memorial Award, is presented annually by the CJHL and the National Hockey League Coaches’ Association to recognize outstanding coaching performance across Canada's Junior A hockey leagues.

Blevins led the Mustangs to an impressive 46-8-0-2 regular-season record, the best in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, boasting a winning percentage of .839. Under his guidance, the team achieved league-leading statistics in several categories, including goals scored, goals against, power play efficiency, and penalty kill efficiency.

A native of Melfort, Saskatchewan, Blevins played his entire junior career with the team and won an SJHL Championship in 1996. In December 2013, he became the 10th head coach in the franchise's history and has also served as the general manager for the past five seasons.

Blevins becomes the third consecutive SJHL coach to receive the honour, following Brayden Klimosko of the Battlefords North Stars and Mike Reagan of the Flin Flon Bombers.
