SOUTHWEST SASKATCHEWAN - Environment Canada says conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and heavy rain.

A line of thunderstorms has entered southwestern portions of the province this evening. This line of storms will be capable of producing strong, damaging wind gusts, small hail, and heavy rains over the evening hours.

These storms are expected to weaken overnight tonight.

Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility.

Strong wind gusts can damage trees, buildings and overturn vehicles.

Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
