Would you rather…

I have played a “would you rather” type of game with my kids where I poll them on their preferences to random scenarios pitted against one another.

I have played a “would you rather” type of game with my kids where I poll them on their preferences to random scenarios pitted against one another.

Think “Would you rather encounter a venomous snake or a bear on your hiking trail?” It’s a fun conversation starter or a way to kill time while exploring ridiculous scenarios. My kids find it quite fun.

I was thinking that it might be kind of fun to up the ante a little and create a game of “would you rather dare.” (If this game already exists, please refrain from bursting my bubble. I’m feeling quite creative right now).

My thought is that you prepare a series of “would you rather” experiences and instead of just answering a question, you’ve got to put your money where your mouth is and actually follow through.

Should you decide to attempt this version of “would you rather,” here are a few options for easy to set up experiences.

Would you rather…

*Eat a quarter of a lemon or a tablespoon of ketchup?

*Stand on one leg for three minutes or do 30 pushups?

*Hold a plank for 60 seconds or run up the stairs 10 times?

*Put on lipstick blindfolded or put on eyeshadow with eyes closed?

*Hold an ice cube in a fist for 30 seconds or spin around 5 times?

*Write all the numbers from 1 to 100 or sing “Let it Go” karaoke style?

*Rap about yourself for 60 seconds or write a six-line poem about your sibling?

*Balance a spoon on your nose and walk the length of the room or balance a book on your head and walk the length of the room?

There are so many funny options that you could include and vary depending on the age ranges in your family. A few pointers would be to keep it safe, keep it fun, and keep it challenging.

Remember that no one has fun if they’re forced to do something they don’t want to do, so it may be beneficial to have an escape clause.
