The weather is gorgeous and the snow is gone, so it鈥檚 time to get outside even more! There are so many fabulous things to do in the spring, and I feel like most of us are motivated enough just to get some sun on our faces.
If you鈥檙e looking for something creative to do outside as a family, this can be a fun one. Being a photographer you would think that I would take a fair amount of pictures throughout my week, but sadly I don鈥檛.
I want to be more in the habit of taking photos with my own family and I thought a photo scavenger hunt with my kids and husband would be a good idea.
You can either work together all as one group, as individuals or on teams. It鈥檚 pretty easy to equip everyone with a camera or cell phone camera. Challenge yourselves to get creative with your angles, perspectives and composition of your photographs.
Items for the spring photo scavenger hunt could be: a photo where it looks like something is growing out of your head; a group shot in a reflection; a portrait of your shadow; a flat lay (a grouping of items shot from above) with things you find outside; feet; new life; a picture taken from a bird鈥檚 eye view; a picture taken from a worm鈥檚 eye view; a creative shot of your garbage can; a group shot with the most touristy attraction in your town or city; video shot of how many people you can fit on a moving bike; a shot where everyone is hiding behind a tree; your best model pose; a shot with everyone jumping; someone hanging upside down from something; a shot that makes you appear very large; and a photo where you are 鈥渉olding鈥� a large landmark.
These are just some ideas to get you started. Have fun with it and get your family involved in generating ideas as well. When you get back you can create a few collages with an app and send them to each other鈥檚 devices so that you all have the evidence of your fun family outing.
