The Saskatchewan Roughriders lost to the Edmonton Eskimos 33-25. The Riders were down 22-0 in the second quarter, but they made it 22-3 at half time with a field goal. The Riders played better in the second half, and would make it close in the third quarter, but it was not enough to win the game. Riders quarterback Darian Durant attempted 38 passes while completing 27 for 314 yards passing. He also had 13 yards rushing and two touchdowns. The Riders record is 1-8, and their next game is the Labour Day Classic against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Other scores from Week 10 were: the B.C. Lions beat the Ottawa RedBlacks 29-23, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers beat the Montreal Alouettes 32-18 and the Calgary Stampeders got past the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 30-24.
In the NFL preseason, the New England Patriots beat the Carolina Panthers 19-17 in a close game. The Pats will close out the preseason against the New York Giants.

In the Arena Football League, the Philadelphia Soul beat the Arizona Rattlers 56-42 in Arena Bowl XXIX. The Soul’s previous championship came in 2008.
In NCAA Division 1AA Football, the North Dakota State Bison beat the Charleston Â鶹ÊÓƵern Buccaneers 24-17 in overtime in their opening game of the regular season. The Bison’s next game is against the Eastern Washington Eagles.
The Toronto Blue Jays swept the Minnesota Twins in Major League Baseball action over the weekend. The Jays’ are in first place in the American League East Division, and are now in the midst of 15 straight games against American League East opponents.
