So I realized that we already have a Halloween party coming up this week, and as a family we had made zero decisions on costumes as of yet.
My kids are definitely at the age where they enjoy being their favourite characters that are over commercialized. One of my kids, though, has an innate humour and is showing that they鈥檙e up for choosing a costume more on the 鈥渃lever鈥 side of things.
In case you鈥檙e in need of a funny, clever or punny Halloween costume I thought I鈥檇 do a roundup of some great ideas that I鈥檝e come across.
Social Butterfly: Slap on some butterfly wings, an antennae and then print off large scale app buttons like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to pin to your shirt. Get it? Social media butterfly.
Life: This one is so easy and it made me giggle. Take a white T-shirt, paint the word Life on it and walk around offering lemons to everyone. Ha! 鈥淲hen life gives you lemons鈥︹
Ceiling Fan: You鈥檙e going to look like a cheerleader but funnier. Get on your cheer skirt and tennis shoes, grab your pom poms, put your hair in pig tails and ribbons, and then write Go Ceiling! on your shirt or just cheer it all night long.
Formal Apology: This one is sure to make people groan. Dress up in your best formal wear (long dress, fancy suit, etc.) and either wear a sign that says 鈥淚鈥檓 Sorry,鈥 hand out 鈥淚鈥檓 sorry鈥 cards, or just greet everyone with an 鈥淚鈥檓 sorry.鈥
Earl Grey Tea: I appreciate the clever simplicity of this costume. Dress all in grey. Make or buy a 鈥淢y name is鈥 sticker and write in the name 鈥淓arl.鈥 Then make a paper tea tag (if that鈥檚 what you call it) that says 鈥淭ea鈥 on it and attach it to your shirt or toque with a string. Now you are indeed 鈥淓arl Grey Tea.鈥
Taco Belle: This costume definitely requires more effort. Take a Belle costume from Beauty and the Beast. Any yellow ball gown will do. Then create felt tacos and glue them all over the dress.
Creep it real folks!
