Hypocrisies in modern politics

Andrew Scheer has talked about his want to expose Justin Trudeau鈥檚 various and numerous viewpoints on a great many topics. In the news business, hypocrisies are nothing new and neither is it in politics.

In the news business, hypocrisies are nothing new and neither is it in politics. I have a collection of late 18th centaury newspapers and I remember reading an article in of those papers dating to 1798. It was an article about how a band of Indigenous people attacked a group of fur traders by a riverside and stole everything they had.聽

In that article I think every second or third word was some sort of racial slur about Indigenous peoples.聽

I was in an antique store last year in Ontario and a Coca-Cola add dating to 1953 was for sale and it depicted white American soldiers introducing聽 鈥淕reat American Cola鈥 to a tropical Indigenous tribe. That tribe had their lips painted bright red and they had very dark skin with a facial features not quite similar to what you may call human features, but more reminiscent of an ape.

Racism and hypocrisies have been around for a long time, and when the two tango together, it is almost always because someone somewhere is seeking money or power.

Unfortunately, when racism and hypocrisies tango in politics, its effects are widespread and terrible compared to a newspaper seeking to appease it readers or a company looking to sell something.聽

There is a strange paradox going on between Canada in the United States right now. Trump鈥檚 slogan could easily be 鈥淕et some white skin鈥 and in Canada the opposite is true when looking at the NDP or the Liberals.聽

You could almost hypnotize that an anti-civil rights movement is happing in the U.S. right now. But I am writing about Canada and the two biggest hypocrisies being carried out by the federal Liberals are clearly shown with their immigration policy and Motion 103.聽

This reality was displayed when Justin Trudeau鈥檚 tweet welcoming border jumpers into the country occurred, with him taking the tone of many European leaders that if you鈥檙e not white, you鈥檙e welcome to walk across the border and join the immigration list.聽

Ukraine for example is a country that has a lot of similar problems as Syria and the people there are trying to overthrow the archenemy of popular leftist politics Vladimir Putin.

For some reason the Canadian government doesn鈥檛 care enough to expedite their immigration claims for a reason that may be more obvious than not. They are, however, fully willing to send people there with guns and tanks because that country needs more of that?

The truth is the irrational self-interest of businesses and governments only aim is to give advantages to people who will be useful to them. This way of thinking put Trump in power and has caused people of different races and colours to feel uncomfortable around one another.

Stephen Harper, during his reign, attempted to make a motion similar to M-103 that was aimed at protecting people from Israel and nobody else. Motion 103, penned by the federal Liberals, aims to protect Muslims and nobody else.聽

This isn鈥檛 the Canadian way and I hope it never becomes the Canadian way. I also doubt people of colour like being treated like an injured pet that needs constant support and help just because they are not white.

My personal beliefs on things like Motion 103 is free speech is an inalienable natural right that doesn鈥檛 come from a government and I will defend that right for as long as I live.聽

For immigration, I鈥檇 like to take the skin colour requirement out of the equation and have merit-based immigration.聽

Brining people into a country because of their skin colour and throwing merit out the window doesn鈥檛 help immigrants or refugees. If they can鈥檛 work, lack skills and don鈥檛 speak English, their lives are not going to be good.聽

The only real people who benefit are those looking to gain power or businesses, which, for example, are looking to appease their readership by pumping out videos and stories about refugees.聽聽

This can鈥檛 be the country where we welcome people in. It鈥檚 wrong because when they get there, they quickly find out their usefulness is that of power and money and similar to where they came from, skin colour a measure of one鈥檚 character.聽
