Reading your home town newspaper while being away at college and catching up on all the news going on back home does not make home feel so far away.聽
After reading the article 鈥淣ew scam targets newcomers to Canada,鈥� I was truly upset and disgusted with the behaviour of some people in this world.聽
To start off, I feel it is childish to target newcomers moving to Estevan and wanting to steal money from them. Trying to trick these people into paying money by telling immigrants that it will speed up their immigration paperwork, or that these immigrants have won a new car, but have to pay to claim it, makes me sick.聽
I do not understand how people have the nerve to scam these newcomers when a majority of them are moving here to provide for their families and are willing to work the unwanted but necessary jobs in Estevan that the scammers are unwilling to do. If these scammers would get a real job and not harass the good people immigrating to work in Canada, they would waste less time scamming and make their money more easily.聽
It truly hits home when this is happening in your home town.聽
I hope everybody is aware of this money scam that is going on.聽
