Cheers and Jeers for Sept. 29

Cheers : Cheers to all the kids in the Missoula Children’s Theatre’s production of Gulliver’s Travels. Their dedication and commitment to learn a play in five days is amazing.

Cheers to a nice woman who recently did the right thing by pulling over for a funeral procession.

Cheers to the organizers of the Estevan Showcase Business Expo. The return to the Power Dodge Ice Centre was the right move.

Cheers to St. Giles Anglican Church for the wonderful meal with such generous portions delivered. It was very tasty.

Cheers to Emily, who took great care of a person’s missing cat, and returned her to the cat’s owner.

Jeers:

Jeers to companies that say they donate money to an organization, when they really just collect money from their customers and pass it on. It is a nice gesture, but they don’t donate anything. Ìý

Jeers to the Estevan Chamber of Commerce for not having anyone at its booth at the Estevan Showcase Business Expo.

Jeers to repairs on sections of Highway 47 towards the border. There are lots of loose rocks with the potential to cause damage to vehicles. Will it ever be repaired properly?

Jeers to Perkins Street still being part of the truck route. With a school, park, and daycare one block to the south, a portion of the road should probably be a restricted speed zone and certainly not a route for heavy truck traffic.

Jeers to people who don’t know how to properly park their vehicles. Whether it’s in parking lots or along the street curbs, there are a lot of drivers who need a refresher. Ìý
