Cheers:

Cheers to Estevan’s firefighters for their dedication to this community. Being a firefighter is a tough job. It’s even more difficult when they get called away from their regular jobs or their families.
Cheers to all the exhibitors who were part of the Estevan Antique Auto Club’s fall flea market and swap meet. There was a lot more than just automotive products.
Cheers to the Estevan Chamber of Commerce for hosting the all-candidates forum on Wednesday night, and giving local residents a chance to hear the thoughts of the people running for mayor and councillor.
Cheers to the entertainment that will be part of the United Way Estevan telethon on Oct. 14 and 15. It’s good to see so many people have stepped forward to help this organization.
Cheers to the Estevan Farmers’ Market for their outstanding work this year. There were a lot of great vendors who gave us lots of selection.

Jeers:
Ìý
Jeers to a lack of consistency with ticketing and enforcement. Two residents out of 17 on one block are punished for violations? Yet so many drive while distracted or have illegal window tint.
Jeers to the people in Canada and the U.S. who oppose pipelines. If they don’t want pipelines, they should get rid of their vehicles.
Jeers to the person responsible for the stabbing in Estevan during the long weekend. It’s incidents like this one that give our community a bad reputation.
Jeers to those who committed acts of vandalism at the Estevan Community Gardens this year. The people who have garden plots work hard to maintain them, and deserve better.
Jeers to people who can’t control their animals. We shouldn’t have to worry about dogs running loose in the city and putting the health of other animals at risk. It’s not the dogs that are the problem, it’s the owners.Ìý
