Cheers:
Cheers to all the organizers, volunteers and supporters for all of the events associated with the fourth annual St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation Festival of Trees.
Cheers to the creators and producers of The Locomotives of Bienfait. It was an excellent and well-researched historical production. And thanks to the Estevan Orpheum Theatre for the free public screenings of the film.
Cheers to the local businesses for sponsoring youth hockey teams and providing them with clothing and tournament fees. The kids are very excited to be given the opportunity to have team gear and to play the game.
Cheers to all the businesses, individuals and organizations that donated money, time and the use of equipment to the Rafferty Dam marina. Without this kind of help, it would be a struggle to keep the boat launch and facility viable.
Cheers to the Legion in Estevan for holding an afternoon dance that was enjoyed by all. Hopefully it can happen again, because the seniors love it.

Jeers:
Jeers to the rude, inconsiderate people who babbled relentlessly during the Rory Allen performance at the Festival of Trees. The distracting blather could be heard several tables away.
Jeers to customers in restaurants who are obnoxiously loud. Be aware of other diners who have no interest in conversations.
Jeers to those who committed vandalism at Hillcrest School. It’s a great school and people there deserve better than to have it damaged.
Jeers to the motorist who was responsible for the three-vehicle collision east of Estevan last week. Hopefully he won’t be behind the wheel of a vehicle for a long time.
Jeers to the federal government for its plans to phase out conventional coal-fired electricity in 2030. Other nations see the value of coal, why doesn’t Canada? At least they see the value in carbon capture and storage.
