Cheers to all of the volunteers who dedicated so much time to the Western Canada Cup hockey tournament in Estevan. Hopefully many of them will be helping out again during the upcoming Saskatchewan Summer Games.

Ìý

Cheers to the city staff at Affinity Place for the awesome job at keeping the arena clean and looking great during the Western Canada Cup. The ice looked to be in the best shape it has ever been.

Ìý

Cheers to the United Way Estevan for supporting the Creighton Lodge Trust Committee and the residents of Creighton Lodge.Ìý

Ìý

Cheers to the members of the Estevan Fire and Rescue Service for their willingness to respond to a call at a moment’s notice, such as the recent grass fire west of the city.

Jeers:

Ìý

Jeers to business people who rent out their former homes to their employees and let the yards get overrun by dandelions. Don't you care about your former neighbours?

Ìý

Jeers to those who claim the Highway 47 and truck by-pass intersection is safe. Tell that to the loved ones of the person who lost her life there and the others involved in an accident at the same location.

Ìý

Jeers to protestors who don’t show their face to the camera. Don’t hide behind signs if you think you are so right when it comes to an issue.

Ìý

Jeers to the people who don’t believe six sets of rumble strips or a red flashing light and a stop sign are enough of a warning.ÌýThere is nothing wrong with the design of the junction at Highway 47 and the truck bypass.

Ìý

Jeers to the decision to centralize hospital laundry services in Regina and Saskatoon. It might work in the summer, but it’s not such a good idea in the winter.
