Cheers to Cole Brooks of the Estevan TS&M bantam AA Bruins, who was selected by the Kelowna Rockets in the recent Western Hockey League draft.

Cheers to whoever picked garbage out of the ditches along Highway 47 north of the city. It was a job well done and made a big difference.

Cheers to the organizers of the recent MS Walk in Estevan, and to all those who donated and walked to support people living with multiple sclerosis.

Cheers to all the dancers and everyone else involved in the annual Drewitz School of Dance Spotlight on the Stars recital. It was absolutely wonderful.

Cheers to Rock Solid Landscaping for the exceptional and creative refurbishment of the medians on Souris Avenue North, and for building the new flower beds.

Cheers to Four Season Rental and Repair for ensuring that a garden tiller was repaired in time to get a garden in the ground before the recent heavy rains.

Jeers:

Jeers to thoughtless drivers and passengers who throw their coffee cups and food wrappers out of their vehicles.

Jeers to the people working in the hospitality sector who cannot bother to say thank you when they ring in your purchase. If it wasn't for the customers they wouldn't have a job. Business owners should not allow this to happen, either.

Jeers to the city of Estevan for spending taxpayer dollars on flowers. The money could have been directed towards fixing the roads.

Jeers to those who have been going through other people’s vehicles. One of the few bright spots about the recent rain is it might discourage these criminals from doing it again.

Jeers to whoever drove off after striking the fence near the Estevan Archery Club in late May. How hard is it to remain at the scene of the accident?

Jeers to the appearance of the tent caterpillars in the city of Estevan. Hopefully, they don’t cause too much damage.
