Cheers to the gentleman who helped an elderly lady carry her groceries out to her car. There are good, kind people in Estevan.
Cheers to the crews from SaskPower who worked late into the night following the storm on Sunday to restore power to most of the people of Estevan.
Cheers to the local firefighters and police officers for their efforts to ensure that people remained safe following the storm, when so many streets were flooded.
Cheers to all the people who have helped remove water, debris and damaged materials from flooded basements in recent days.
Cheers to the Canadian Red Cross volunteers who have been at the Civic Auditorium, working at a flood relief centre. Their efforts and their sympathy have been appreciated.

Jeers:
Jeers to those who complained about the Pride Flag flying at City Hall. People like that are the reason the flag needed to be flying right where it was. Welcome to the 21st century, where equality is enjoyed by all.
Jeers to those who have uttered hateful, racist or homophobic remarks. Learn to co-exist.
Jeers to the disgusting appearance of the east end of Estevan. It is an embarrassment coming in from that side of town. Hopefully it will be cleaned up before the Summer Games.
Jeers to the motorists who accelerated through the deep water following the recent storm in Estevan, and only added to the water problems for local residents and businesses.
Jeers to the lookie-loos who drove around the city to gawk at all the damage caused by the storm. Those who didn’t have to be out should have stayed home, rather than become a nuisance to others.
