Cheers:
Cheers to post office employees, newspaper carriers and other people working outside in the cold temperatures.
Cheers to the person who bought me Timbits at Tim Hortons.
Cheers to Estevan's firefighters for their commitment to the city.
Cheers to Creighton Lodge for shopping local for its new addition.Ìý It’s easier for local businesses to support organizations when they spend their money in Estevan whenever possible.
Cheers to the members of a local hockey team who helped out their opponents from Swift Current after their bus broke down.
Cheers to Kelly Panteluk Construction for their generous contribution to Saskatchewan’s new children’s hospital.

Jeers:
Jeers to the latest property tax increase in this city.
Jeers to people who stand and chat on the walking track at Affinity Place while others are walking and running.
Jeers to shoppers who leave the shopping carts in the middle of parking lots instead of returning them to the cart corrals. It’s not that cold, consider the few extra steps as good cardio therapy.
Jeers to the semi truckers who still insist on using Fourth and Sixth Streets as their truck route. Six of them went through the Sixth Street intersection on Saturday, about 20 seconds apart.
Jeers to the kind stranger who shovelled off and cleaned my front sidewalk and steps last week. I was really looking forward to doing that job myself for a little exercise. You spoiled my fun. (Actually, this is a cheer, the gesture was truly appreciated).
