Cheers and Jeers for January 1

Cheers: Cheers to the businesses of Estevan and area who showed good old Canadian backbone in wishing us a Merry Christmas in their advertisements. Way to go! Cheers to the two women who were so kind to my children and I at the grocery store.

Cheers to the two women who were so kind to my children and I at the grocery store. One gave me a loonie for a cart when she saw I was struggling to find one and the other helped me get my groceries to my car. I had just come from the doctor with a sick little boy and was picking up a few things before Christmas. Your kindness made a hard day much better. Thank you.

Cheers to winter and fluffy snowflakes … finally.

Jeers:

Jeers to those who show no patience with people who are being trained at checkout counters or certain job stations. So what if they’re going a little slower than you would like … they’re learning.

Jeers to Estevan’s icy intersections. I know there is nothing that can be done to really solve the problem, I just don’t like them. But spring is only a few months away!
