Cheers and Jeers for Jan. 5

Cheers: Cheers to the newspaper carriers, mail carriers and other people who had to spend significant time outdoors to make deliveries during the recent cold snap.

Cheers to the newspaper carriers, mail carriers and other people who had to spend significant time outdoors to make deliveries during the recent cold snap.

Cheers to employees of service stations who worked outdoors while it was so cold outside in late December and early January.

Cheers to the Estevan Police Service for their efforts to quite possibly save a local person’s life on New Year’s Day.

Cheers to everyone who is involved with the SMILE Services bus, which looks after the seniors in town with care and compassion throughout the year.

Cheers to the kind woman on Maple Bay who found a woman’s lost glove and kept it safe until it could be returned. Just goes to show there are still nice people left in this world.

Cheers to the Santa's little helpers in Lampman who left Christmas goodies, popcorn and a large candy cane at a woman’s back door. What a pleasant surprise.

Cheers to the woman driving on Henry Street who offered to help a local resident shovel her driveway.

Jeers:

Jeers to people that talk non stop. They are not that interesting. Why is it calked a gift of the gab? It’s more like a curse.

Jeers to the people who think two rinks are enough in this city. During the Civic’s closure, so many people and families have been forced to travel to other communities.

Jeers to the small-minded person who complained about Christmas music being played after Christmas. Has this person ever heard of Ukrainian Christmas?
