Cheers to everybody who was involved with the Robbie Burns Night in Estevan. The music and the dancing were enjoyable, and the haggis was great this year.
Cheers to the Estevan Bruins for the wildly entertaining game they had against the Humboldt Broncos. Hopefully more people will take note that this has become a very entertaining team. Also, cheers to everyone who supported the fundraisers for Ronald McDonald House that night.
Cheers to the new proposed taxi bylaw in the city. Some cab companies are too expensive, and discourage people from seeking a safe ride home.
Cheers to the people who have been sharing their stories about their battles with mental health issues. It’s important for us to keep the conversation going now that Bell Let’s Talk Day is over.
Cheers to Oxbow’s Chaelynn Kitz for her strong performance as the lead on Sherry Anderson’s rink at the Viterra Scotties Tournament of Hearts, and for winning the Marj Mitchell Memorial Award for her sportsmanship.

Jeers to No Frills for not having flyers like the other grocery stores in town. There are some people in the community who don’t have internet access, and rely on flyers for deals.
Jeers to the school divisions for their plans for Estevan’s schools moving forward. It’s tough for a Grade 7 to be in the same school as a Grade 12, and the closure of elementary schools would not be good for the community.
Jeers to those who are complaining about the new fines for distracted driving that come into effect on Feb. 1. If you don’t want to be fined, then don’t text and drive.
