Cheers to the people who came together in 2017 and provided the community with a large variety of charity events and fundraisers that genuinely helped out those in need.

Ìý

Cheers to the local businesses that sponsor kids’ sports teams. People really appreciate these businesses sponsoring jerseys, equipment and more to help keep fees reasonable.

Ìý

Cheers to the different organizations and agencies in the community who provide programming for young people during the Christmas break.

Ìý

Cheers to those who have worked hard to get outdoor rinks open in the community. It’s another activity for local youths to enjoy this winter.

Ìý

Cheers to all of the people who have stepped forward to volunteer at the upcoming SaskTel Tankard. More volunteers are still needed.

Ìý

Jeers:

Jeers to the people complaining about having to go elsewhere while the Civic Auditorium is closed. They are supporting smaller communities by using their rinks, and all the while, Estevan teams have been utilizing players from smaller communities for their own programs.

Ìý

Jeers to the snow that has built up on local roads during the wintertime, while the highways surrounding the city are always clear of snow.

Ìý

Jeers to people who always need to have an opinion on social media, even when the topic has absolutely nothing to do with them.

Ìý

Jeers to pedestrians who insist on jaywalking when there is a crosswalk only a few yards away. Make drivers’ lives easier by crossing at the crosswalk.

Ìý

Jeers to people who still haven’t cleaned off their sidewalks from the snowfall a few weeks ago. It’s difficult for pedestrians, and it can be hard to see the snow in the dark.Ìý
