Cheers to the Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs senior boys and girls basketball teams for winning the McLeod Series against Weyburn for the second straight year.

Cheers to the Estevan Arts Council and other organizations that offered programs for young people during the winter break.

Cheers to everybody who was responsible for bringing Johnny Reid to Estevan. It was a great show.

Cheers to the individual who cleaned the snow off of windshields at a local senior citizens’ building last week.

Cheers to the Estevan Bruins for playing in two entertaining home games during the weekend. They won both games to boot.

Jeers:

Jeers to fast food restaurants that overfill their cups with ice. I ordered a small root beer, not a small cup of ice.

Jeers to the people who worked the doors at the recent Johnny Reid concert. They forced people to wait in line for more than an hour. It was tough on the elderly, and those with sore legs or a bad back.

Jeers to all the people complaining about the areas around mailboxes being icy. It’s the streets and city property around the mailboxes that are the problem.

Jeers to gas retailers whose prices are eight to 11 cents more expensive than anywhere else in the province.

Jeers to the people who found it acceptable to enter private property and kick over the snowmen my kids enjoyed building on our front lawn the last two weekends. It really upset them.
