Cheers and Jeers for February 12

Cheers: Cheers to the young mother who lifted a big bag of bird seed out of my shopping cart at Walmart and put it into the back of my van. It was thoughtful to help out a senior person.

Cheers to the Estevan Police Association for sponsoring the magic show at the Estevan Comprehensive School. It was a great night out with the family.

Cheers to the person who located my cell phone a few weeks ago in the Walmart parking lot and was kind enough to bring it to the customer service desk.

Cheers to the Estevan Kinettes for hosting the fun family carnival at Sacred Heart School last weekend.

Cheers to those who have supported the food bank at the Estevan Salvation Army, allowing them to meet a growing demand.

Jeers:

Jeers to people who don’t return their phone calls and messages. It’s particularly annoying when you need to talk to them.

Jeers to the dunces who insist on blocking the sidewalk when they park their vehicles on the driveway. Park on the road instead.

Jeers to those who don’t agree with the plan to have out-of-work energy sector employees clean up abandoned oil well sites.

Jeers to the proposed speed reduction for two blocks on Fourth Street. I can do 50 kilometres per hour down a narrow residential street, where residents could step out in front of me, but I have to reduce my speed to 30 kilometres per hour down a street that’s two or three times wider because someone might step out in front of me.
