Cheers:
Cheers to the organizers of the Mike Sarada Memorial Day activities. There was a lot happening and it’s going to help local athletes further their development.
Cheers to the Estevan Snowmobile Club for hosting the Prairie Women on Snowmobiles last week. It would have been nice to have more snow on the ground, but it was great to have the Prairie Women here for the first time.
Cheers to the choir members who were part of the Common Vision concert on Sunday afternoon, and raised money for the Canadian Food Grains Bank.
Cheers to the Estevan RCMP for holding a town hall on Tuesday night in Bienfait. It’s great to see them reaching out to the public for their insights.
Cheers to the Estevan Minor Hockey Association for hosting its Timbits tournament this past weekend, and giving the youngest players a chance to play games.

Jeers:
Jeers to city council for deciding that there would be just the one marijuana dispensary in Estevan. Why stand in the way of extra businesses in Estevan?
Jeers to those who have been shovelling snow into the streets. There’s a reason why it leads to a fine; it makes road conditions that much worse.
Jeers to motorists who refuse to yield the right-of-way to pedestrians at crosswalks. It’s even worse in the cold weather. They’re sitting in their nice warm vehicles, while the pedestrians are out in the frigid temperatures.
Jeers to the drivers who have been speeding in school zones. Also, please remember that even though winter break for schools is coming, the reduced speed limits are still in effect.
Jeers to the reaction that has been seen, from both sides, following the Gerald Stanley verdict.
