Cheers and Jeers for Dec. 9

Cheers: Cheers to the delivery drivers, taxi drivers and everyone else who needed to regularly drive through the snowstorm on Dec. 5. Hopefully all of their customers and clients tipped them well for working hard in that nasty weather.

Cheers to the delivery drivers, taxi drivers and everyone else who needed to regularly drive through the snowstorm on Dec. 5. Hopefully all of their customers and clients tipped them well for working hard in that nasty weather.

Cheers to the City of Estevan employees and the contractors who have been working tirelessly to clear snow during the past week. Hopefully they won’t have to contend with any more big storms for a little while.

Cheers to Midale Petroleums for helping the Carriere family during their time of need.

Cheers to the Gervais farm north of Estevan for all the creative statues they make. It’s always nice to drive by there.

Cheers to the people who do not shovel the snow from their driveways onto the roads.

Cheers to the Estevan Police Service for their recent drug bust, Project Minch. It's nice to know that these hard drugs are being taken off of Estevan's streets.

Jeers:

Jeers to whoever found a bag of novels in the Walmart parking lot and didn't have the courtesy to take the bag into the store, just in case someone came back looking for them. Hopefully that person enjoyed the reading.

Jeers to the dunce who left their vehicle parked in the middle of Wellock Road, without the hazard lights on, during a blizzard on Dec. 5. It created a very dangerous situation for other motorists.

Jeers to the people who once again insisted on driving in an unsafe fashion during and after the blizzard. These are the people who really needed to heed the police’s warning to stay off of the roads.

Jeers to those who have unnecessarily left their vehicles parked on the street during the snow clearing efforts. It’s understandable in some cases, because not everybody has a driveway or a garage. But others just seem to insist on parking in the street.

Jeers to those who have complained about the speed of the snow removal in Estevan. It’s amazing that some people don’t understand how long it actually takes to clear all that snow. Ìý
