Cheers and Jeers for Dec. 29

Cheers: Cheers to the "Your speed" radar signs north on Highway 47 to the truck bypass, saving motorists from the hundreds of speeding tickets issued there last year. Cheers to the person who cleared all of the sidewalks on Poplar Bay recently.

Cheers to the person who cleared all of the sidewalks on Poplar Bay recently. It was really appreciated.

Cheers to all those who supported the Community Hamper Association before Christmas. It allowed many people to have a much better Christmas this year.

Cheers to the great Christmas lights on display at Woodlawn Regional Park through the Festival of Lights. It’s a great event for the community.

Cheers to the local school students for the entertaining Christmas concerts that they performed last week. It’s a great way to boost Christmas spirit.

Jeers:

Jeers to the amount of time it takes to get the sand trucks out after a snowstorm, particularly at the busiest intersections and the intersections with downhill slopes, such as Perkins Street and Souris Avenue Â鶹ÊÓƵ.

Jeers to motorists who use their high beams within city limits, but don’t dim the high beams when approaching other drivers or pedestrians.

Jeers to the drivers who have not been yielding the right of way to pedestrians at intersections.

Jeers to those who have not learned how to drive at uncontrolled intersections. It’s a pretty simple concept.

Jeers to those who have been playing Christmas music now that Christmas is over. Christmas carols are great to play before Dec. 25; but find some different music now that Christmas is finished.Ìý
