Cheers:
Cheers to the volunteers who deliver Meals on Wheels. They really make a big difference for people who need the service.
Cheers to the people who looked after a local resident鈥檚 plants, while that person was in the hospital. The plants look better now than they ever have.
Cheers to the Patrick at Sacred Heart School/脡cole Sacr茅Coeur, the staff at Mid-City Plumbing and Heating, and anyone else, who assisted motorists who were stuck or stranded during the snow storm that hit the Estevan area earlier this week.
Cheers to the Mercury and 麻豆视频east Lifestyles carriers, and all other delivery people, for getting their jobs done while plowing through snow and slipping on ice.
Cheers to the Estevan Kinsmen Club for having their Christmas tree lot at the 麻豆视频ern Plains Co-op鈥檚 grocery store in Estevan. It鈥檚 a great way to purchase a Christmas tree each year.

Jeers:
Jeers to the absence of an outdoor skating rink in the Hillcrest subdivision. Not all children can get rides to the other side of town.
Jeers to motorists who don鈥檛 drive according to the road conditions now that the snow is here. Their fender-bender and boulevard-bumping tactics don鈥檛 win you many friends on city streets.
Jeers to anyone who decided to drive home from their office Christmas party after having a few drinks. Most companies pay for taxi rides home. Please take advantage of them.
Jeers to those who went south of the border for Black Friday shopping 鈥渄eals.鈥 The sales at retailers in the Estevan area were great, and you didn鈥檛 have to contend with the hordes of shoppers or the exchange rate.
Jeers to the people who continue to try to cross the Canada-U.S. border illegally, or who don鈥檛 declare all their purchases to customs officers.听
