Cheers and Jeers for April 29

Cheers: Cheers to all the volunteers who came out on a blustery Saturday morning to help take the rink boards down at the Rusty Duce Playpark in Pleasantdale. It is very true that many hands make light work.

Cheers to local firefighters for being there for us. And thank you to your families for being understanding with all the missed suppers, games, days and nights.

Cheers to the RM of Estevan for grading the road to the Rafferty Dam marina. It was well done and we appreciate it.

Cheers to the many people who supported the fashion show for Choose Life Ministry on the weekend. The models did a great job.

Cheers to everyone who showed their support for the Estevan Wildlife Federation’s banquet and auction. It’s good to know that people remain generous in tough times.

Jeers:

Jeers to the people who do not finish off their yards in a reasonable amount of time after building a new house. It creates an eyesore. And thank you to those who do finish their yards promptly.

Jeers to the fact that road lines were not pained on Souris Avenue Â鶹ÊÓƵ going up the hill going into town. It’s hard to know which lane to drive in.

Jeers to recommending the use of Kensington Avenue North as an alternative for traffic when there was an accident on the bypass. Kensington Avenue North is closed.Ìý

Jeers to the high winds that rolled through the southeast region this past weekend. It became nearly impossible to get anything done outside.

Jeers to anyone who actually has a problem with Estevan hosting the Western Canada Cup hockey tournament. This is going to be a great week for our city and a showcase for our community.
