Cheers:
Cheers to companies that have once again sent their employees out to clean up the debris in the ditches. It is greatly appreciated. Let's hope that people will respect these efforts and not toss their garbage into the ditches again.
Cheers to Investors' Group for bringing hypnotist Cyrus to Estevan last week. It was an excellent, entertaining performance.Ìý They also made a generous donation to the Warm Welcome shelter.
Cheers to the Estevan Mermaids Synchronized Swim Club for their success at provincials in Saskatoon. They worked hard throughout the season and were rewarded.
Cheers to all of the young people who were part of this year’s Estevan and District Music Festival. The piano performances this month sounded great.
Cheers to the people who supported the jail-and-bail event organized by the Estevan Humane Society. Hopefully this can become an annual event.

Jeers:
Jeers to the lack of advanced notice when part of a street is closed. Residents should have been warned ahead of time about the closure in the 1500 block of Fourth Street.
Jeers to the proposal to have some of the parking fines in Estevan increase by more than 100 per cent. These increases should be gradual and incremental, so that we can avoid having such large increases.
Jeers to people's actions that have created the plight of the Monarch butterflies and of the honeybees.
Jeers to everyone who went to a concert at a local bar on April 16 when a fundraising cabaret was neglected at the Wylie Mitchell Hall.
Jeers to the criminals who have been targeting newcomers in Estevan with a scam. You have only given people a negative impression of this country, and hopefully you haven’t received a dime from the people you have tried to dupe.
