Cheers:
Cheers to Estevan Mercury Publications for coming up with a great promotion to showcase Estevan's local businesses.
Cheers to the thoughtful cashier at Sobey's on March 24. I was in a hurry and totally forgot my wallet and cell phone at her till. She ran out of the store after me to return my belongings.
Cheers to the City of Estevan for correcting the lights at the corner of 4th Street and 13th Avenue. I saw so many people go through a red light because someone decided to alter traffic flow that had worked so well for 30 years.
Cheers to the Old Dogs again for performing and providing great entertainment for young and old at the Estevan Legion’s Club Room. Let’s do it again.
Cheers to the Neighbours Helping Neighbours committee in Estevan for trying to bring in Syrian refugees. Fear has no place in a Christian community. This committee, who see the potential for good in all people, epitomize the best of our Christian values.Â
Jeers:
Jeers to motorists who feel it's all right to leave their vehicle engines running for long periods of time, wasting gas, causing unnecessary noise and polluting the air. This practice is especially annoying in residential areas.
Jeers to loud music at sporting events. When there are both adults and children holding their hands over their ears, there is a problem. There are also people who have hearing aids. Do you not know how this can affect them?Â
Jeers to selling the seats belonging to season ticket holders prior to the tickets going on sale to the general public. We were under the impression that as season ticket holders we had first choice of those seats for playoff games. This is not the first time this has been done.
Jeers to people who fail to show up for their scheduled court dates. It’s probably a better idea to show up as scheduled, than to be arrested on outstanding warrants at a later date.Â
Jeers to the latest motorists to be arrested in charged for impaired driving. Some people just never learn.
